Capilano Suspension Bridge
Selects RTP for Attractions Operations
RTP Continues Expansion into New Markets with the
Addition of Popular Canadian Attraction
August 31, 2005 - Avon, Colo – RTP, a leading provider of integrated point-of-sale software and eCommerce solutions for the resort and attraction industries, announced today that Capilano Suspension Bridge has chosen RTP’s software solution, RTP|ONE™ to manage their attraction’s operations, including ticketing and pass sales, group sales, food and beverage sales, retail sales, and customer information. The RTP|ONE solution enables Capilano Suspension Bridge to integrate every aspect of their attraction’s operations into one central system.
Located just minutes from downtown Vancouver, Capilano Suspension Bridge is Vancouver's oldest and most famous attraction, drawing over 750,000 visitors and 450 tour operators annually. Visitors to the park can enjoy such activities as the Totem Park, the Living Forest, an interactive tree identification display of a West Coast rainforest, and Treetops Adventure, Capilano’s newest attraction, offering visitors a bird’s eye view of the forest via a series of elevated suspension bridges, some reaching as high as 100 feet above the forest floor.
“We are excited to partner with RTP,” said Dilraj Saini, IT Manager at Capilano Suspension Bridge. “We have been using multiple systems to manage our operations, resulting in duplicated work efforts and inefficiencies. With RTP’s enterprise system and tightly integrated accounting capabilities, we will see huge improvements in productivity. Additionally, our guests will benefit from faster service and transaction times, and thus reduce our ticket lines.”
The initial roll-out of the RTP|ONE product suite includes point-of-sale solutions for ticketing, food and beverage and access control. Over the next two years, Capilano Suspension Bridge will add retail sales capabilities, as well as interface with their property management system.
“We are excited to have Capilano Suspension Bridge as our first attraction in Canada,” said Tom Fisher, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for RTP. “Capilano offers a unique experience to their guests, and we are thrilled to be part of it.”
Prior to selecting RTP, Capilano used multiple, disparate systems to manage their different operations. “Maintaining and adding additional functionally used to be so time consuming and costly, given the resources required to manage so many systems,” added Saini. “With RTP, we now spend less time on supporting our systems and more time on improving our operations.”

The park has continually added to its attraction over the years, and now offers an interpretive rainforest walk, informative story centre and the largest private totem pole collection in North America. In May 2004, Capilano Suspension Bridge opened Treetops Adventure, an exciting attraction that introduces visitors to spectacular views while walking along a series of bridges suspended between magnificent old growth Douglas fir trees up to 100 feet above the ground.
