Software Development Manager - Denver

POSITION DESCRIPTION

RTP is looking for a Development Manager in Denver to lead a satellite development center for RTP.  This position will provide hands on development on RTP software products, assist in recruiting and managing staff located in Denver and coordinate on projects with the main development center in Avon.  This position will be responsible for managing other development staff in Denver and working with the different managers in Avon to ensure resources are fully tasked.  This may include project managers/business analysts, database developers, .NET developers, web developers and QA engineers.  This position will report to the VP of Software Development.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

RTP is a market-leader providing of software solutions to the resort and recreation market. Our enterprise application suite, RTP|ONE, is an n-tier application built using the .NET Framework in C#. It is a highly scalable solution leveraging SQL Server technology for data access, reporting (Microsoft Reporting Services) serving many of today’s leading resort and recreation management companies.  In addition, RTP provides web development services to the resort and recreation industries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review requirements documentation and analyze feasibility, approach and estimate development effort for specific projects.
• Responsible for executing and overseeing design, development and delivery of specific projects as assigned.  This will include development of discrete enhancements to existing products, bug fixes to existing products and new products.
• Provide day to day supervision and direction to other Denver based development staff.
• Coordinate development activities and prioritization with the Avon based development team.
• Conducting code reviews and ensuring architecture and coding standards are met for projects assigned.
• Stay up to date on latest technology trends.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Deep functional and technical product knowledge in enterprise integrated point of sale applications.
• Knowledge of the resort and recreation industries with a focus on the ski industry in particular is a bonus.
• 4+ years experience as .NET C# developer.
• 2+ years managing a development team.
• 2+ years in SQL Server development.
• 7+ years of deep technical experience in Microsoft .NET technologies.
• 5+ years UI design experience.
• Strong understanding of object oriented fundamentals.
• Ability to work alone and in a team based environment.
• Experience producing technical design documentation.
• Must have college degree or equivalent experience.
• Development experience in an enterprise software company leading a team of developers.

OTHER
Location – Denver, CO
Some travel to Avon, CO required and other travel possible as well.
