// Ben Hadley | |  As RTP's President and CEO, Charlie L'Esperance is responsible for managing all aspects of RTP's businesses. He is also Chairman of the RTP Board of Directors.
Charlie has over 30 years of experience in hospitality, travel, and resort technology. Prior to joining RTP in March 2001, he worked for Vail Resorts, Inc. for seven years, including roles as CIO and Corporate Officer. At Vail Resorts, he was responsible for all information and telecommunications technology for Vail’s five ski resorts, golf operations, and lodging properties.
Prior to Vail Resorts, Charlie worked for Marriott Corporation for 12 years, including roles as Senior Vice President of Hotel Systems and Executive Committee Member. While at Marriott, he earned many distinctions, including CIO Magazine's Top 100 Award for Excellence in Customer Service and Computer World Magazine's Award for 100 Best Technology Management Companies. He was also a founding board member for The Hotel Industry Switch Company (THISCO).
Prior to Marriott, Charlie was Director of Systems at Ramada Corporation and its computer subsidiary, MICOR International, a leading hotel property management system vendor. He has a master's degree from Cornell University and bachelor’s degree in English and Economics from Bates College.
Charlie serves as Chariman of the Vail Valley Medical Center Board of Directors, and is a member of the Vail Health System Board. He is also a member of the 2015 World Alpine Ski Championships Administrative Committee.
